This is the family line of John Collett (Ref. 27R2) of New South Wales in Australia

	27K1	THOMAS COLLETT	Baptised on 12.03.1701
27K1	THOMAS COLLETT was baptised on 12.03.1701 and was known to be of Weeton in Yorkshire which is a village to the east of Otley between Leeds and Harrogate and adjacent to the town of Harewood. He was married in 1726 to Ann Woodhouse at Holy Trinity Church in Kingston-upon-Hull.

27L3	JOHN COLLETT was born in 1727 and was known as a farmer of Middlefield at Harewood. In 1758 he married Sarah Bicks on Leeds. John died on 07.02.1787 aged 60 while Sarah died in 1820. Since it is known that the first and the last child of the family were born at Harewood, it seems very likely that all of the children were born there.
	What is interesting is that in the Census of 1881 a Robert Collett aged 75 born circa 1806 at Harewood was the farmer of 180 acres of land at Middlefield in Harewood employing four labourers. He was married to Sarah aged 69 of Little Houghton which today is Hemsworth.
	Could this Robert be the son of Robert (Ref. 27M8) born around 1770 or is he the son of Thomas Collett (Ref. 27M10) who is listed as James Collett (Ref. 27N2). Further research is needed to resolve this issue.

27N6	JOHN SCARR COLLETT was born in 1815 at Harewood. He married Alice Hardcastle at Thorner north of Barwick in Elmet in 1845. John was a farmer like his ancestors. He died at Wetherby in September 1872.

27N8	William Collett was born at Harewood in 1819. From the 1881 Census William aged 63 married Betsy Smith also of Harewood and aged 53. The census shows the couple living at Biggin in Harewood with William being a farmer of 173 acres employing one labourer and two boys.
	Living with them was their unmarried daughter Alice Eliza aged 16 and born at East Keswick the next village east of Harewood and Betsy’s mother Eliza Smith aged 75 of Seacroft in East Leeds. She was listed as an annuitant. In addition to these the household included a female domestic servant and two male farmer labourers.
	27O4	Alice Eliza Collett	Born in 1865
27O1	Alice Collett was born in 1846 in the civil parish of Thornham which, at that time, was part of the town of Middleton just north of Manchester. By 1900 the township was dissolved and the name disappear from use altogether. Alice married George Firth of Pilsworth which, like Thornham, was dissolved in 1894 and became part of Bury.
	By 1881 Alice Firth aged 49 and George Firth aged 56 were living at Stakehill in Thornham. Living with them was Alice Collett nee Wild aged 29 the wife of Alice’s brother William Collett (Ref. 27O2) and her two sons Robert aged 5 and John aged 4, both born at Thornham.
27O2	WILLIAM COLLETT was born in 1848. He married Alice Wild in 1878 at Middleton. Alice was born at Thornham in 1852, the same place that her two sons were born. In the 1881 Census Alice was listed as being ‘a preparer at the bleach works’. She was also listed as being married but there was no record of husband William anywhere in the UK at that time, so he may have been abroad. And because of this Alice and her sons were living with her sister-in-law Alice Firth (Ref. 27O1) at Stakehill in Thornham.

27O4	Alice Eliza Collett was born in 1865 at East Keswick which is only two miles east of Harewood. She was listed as unmarried and aged 16 in the Census of 1881 and still living with her parents at Biggin in Harewood.
27P1	Robert Collett was born in 1876 at Thornham (Middleton). In 1881 he was living with his mother Alice Collett (Ref. 25XX) and brother John Collett (Ref. 27P2) at the home of George Firth and his wife and Alice (formerly Collett) at Stakehill in Thornham.
27P2	JOHN COLLETT was born at Thornham (Middleton) on 17.07.1877. He was a blacksmith and journeyman and married Eliza Shepherd in 1898 at the Primitive Methodist Church in Oldham, Lancashire. Eliza was born in 1879 at Middleton the daughter of Edward and Lizzie Shepherd of 9 Taylor Street in Middleton. At sometime around 1905 the family emigrated to Australia as the first four children were born in Manchester, with the last four being born in Australia.

27Q4	James Collett whose date of birth is not known was born in Manchester. He married in Australia Eileen Boardman the sister of Kathleen Boardman who married James’ brother Edward Collett (Ref. 27Q5).
27Q5	Edward Collett was one of twins whose date of birth is not known except that it took place in Australia. He married Kathleen Boardman the sister of Eileen Boardman who married Edward’s brother James Collett (Ref. 27Q4).
27Q6	Ernest Collett was one of twins whose date of birth is not known except that it took place in Australia. He married Grace Carson.
27R1	Beverley May Collett was born in 1929 and she married Robert Jackson.
27R2	JOHN ROBERT COLLETT of Murray Farm Road at Beecroft in New South Wales was born on 13.02.1932. He married Esme Hamilton on 12.04.1953. This photograph was taken at Shepton Mallet at the Collett Reunion in June 2006.

27S3	Robert Michael Collett was born in 1967 and he married Marlene Patricia in 1990. They had a daughter Emily Lauren born in 1994.
