This is the family line of Janelle Collett (Ref. 32S4) of Edmonton Alberta,

Bonnie Brown (Ref. 32R5) and Max Collett (Ref. 32Q91) of Placentia Bay,

and Natasha Young (see Ref. 32Q68) of Pasadena in Newfoundland

More so than any other family line that I have ever had the pleasure to construct (with information kindly supplied by Bonnie Brown and Tony Young), this particular line is full of intrigue with the interweaving of many settler families. Whilst it is primarily a Collett family line, the other prominent families that appear many times throughout the work include: Bendle, Boutcher, Crann, Gabriel, Gilbert, Gregory, Hann, Hollett, Jarvis, Marshall, Masters, Pike, Shave, Tulk, Upshall and Wareham

32P79	Susan Collett was born in 1923. She married Llewelyn Hollett (Ref. 32Q70), the son of James Hollett (Ref. 32P52) and Ann Marie Gilbert, who was born in April 1914 at Harbour Buffett.
	Like many others in this family line, Susan and Llewelyn share the same ancestry in that Susan’s grandfather was George William Collett (Ref. 32N5) who was also the great grandfather of Llewelyn. This is the reason for the ‘one-step’ difference in their generation references which is explained below.
	This unusual situation arises from the fact the Susan’s father Peter Collett (Ref. 32O38) was one of the younger children of George William Collett, while Llewelyn’s grandmother was the oldest member of that family, there being a twenty year gap between their dates of birth.

32P80	Pearl Eleanor Collett was born in 1927 and she married Douglas John Gregory (Ref. 32Q51) on 23.10.1946. Douglas was the son of John Robert Gregory and Louisa Mae Masters (Ref. 32P42). He was born at Harbour Buffett on 27.12.1924 where he was buried following his death on 10.08.1951.
32P82	Charles Cleverly Caldwell Upshall was born in 1898 and he married Mary Dowden who was born in 1905. Of interest here is that their son Llewelyn Brenden Upshall married Loretta Collett (Ref. 32Q105) who sadly passed away in 2009.

32P86	Nelson Stanley Upshall was born in 1909 and died on 01.10.1969. He married Susannah Bella Trowbridge who was born in 1913 and who died on 16.05.1990 at Little Harbour East. The couple had two children, Sheila Lillian born in 1949 who married Clifford Williams, and Harvey Nelson who was born in 1952 and who married Beaulah Upshall the daughter of Henry and Hilda Upshall.
32P87	Ada Beatrice Upshall was one half of a set of twins born at Corney’s Cove in 1911. She married Neil Kenneth Masters who was born in November 1901 at Kingwell. Ada died at Arnold’s Cove in 1993. See reference 32Q40 for more details of this family.
32P88	Hilda Upshall was one half of a set of twin born at Corney’s Cove in 1911. She married Uriah Gilbert who was born in 1910 and who died in 1995. The marriage produced three children, Freeman Lewis born in 1943, Ada Elizabeth born in 1946, and Rita Ann born in 1952 who died in 1968.
	Eldest son Freeman Lewis Upshall married Florence Hann who was also born in 1943.
32P91	John Collett was born in 1906 and he married Ruth Llewelyn.

32P92	Thomas Edward Collett was born in 1902 and he married Dorothy Davis.
32P93	Henrietta Bridden Collett was born in 1903. She married Austin McKenzie Butler who was born in 1901. Henrietta died in 1988.
32P94	Charles Samuel Collett was born in 1905 and married Winnie.
32P96	Lillian Muriel Collett was one half of a set of twins born in 1909. She married Sam Randall and they had two daughters Audrey and Elaine Randall.
32P97	Irene Metcalf Collett was born in 1909 and she married Frank Wareham who was born in 1904. Based on the assumption that they may have married around 1930 it seems more than likely that they had more than just the one son listed below.
	If an early 1930s wedding is a reality, the marriage may also have produced Percy Maxwell Wareham who was born in 1932 and who was the second husband of Alice Florence Collett (Ref. 32Q2), and John Douglas Wareham who married Clotilda Emma Marie Upshall (Ref. 32Q137) who was born in 1938.
	Their proven son Bruce Alberta Wareham (Ref. 32Q142) married Hilda Frances Gregory who was born in 1947 and with whom he had two sons Alberto Wareham, born in 1968, and Kenneth Wareham.
	There must have been a good close relationship between the Colletts and the Warehams as, in addition to this coupling, Irene’s brother Thomas Collett (Ref. 32P99) married Rita Elsie Daisy Wareham and sister Queen Collett (Ref. 32P100) married Harry Pafford Wareham.
	In addition to all of the above, the first husband of aforementioned Alice Florence Collett (Ref. 32Q2) was Ralph Arthur Wareham who was born in 1915.
	Therefore in comparing the dates of birth of the more senior members of the Wareham family it can perhaps be assumed that Frank (Ref. 32P97) born 1904 was the brother to: Harry Wareham (Ref. 32P100) born in 1913; Ralph Wareham (Ref. 32Q2) born in 1915; and Rita Wareham (Ref. 32P99) born in 1918. In addition to this, all of these individuals may have links with the company of W W Wareham, a fish drier in Harbour Buffett.
	Frank Wareham died in 1969 while his wife Irene Metcalf Wareham lived a widow’s life for a further twenty years and died in 1990.

32P98	Ethel Adelaide Squires Collett was born in 1912. She married Percy Charles Shave who was born in 1916 and who died in 1955. Ethel died five years after her husband in 1960.
	Their daughter Jean Collett Shave married Baxter Slade who was tragically drowned. Like Jean, Baxter was also another direct descendent from Thomas Edward Collett (Ref. 32M3), them both sharing the same great great grandfather.

32P99	Thomas Collett was born in 1914 and he married Rita Elsie Daisy Wareham who was born in 1918. Thomas died in 1987, although Rita is still alive in May 2010 at the age of 92. It seems logical that Rita was the sister of Frank Wareham who married Irene Collett (Ref. 32P97), Harry Wareham who married Queen Collett (Ref. 32P100) and Ralph Wareham who married Alice Collett (Ref. 32Q2). 32P100	Queen Collett was born in 1916 and she married Harry Pafford Wareham. It seems logical that Harry was the brother of Frank Wareham who married Irene Collett (Ref. 32P97), Rita Wareham who married Thomas Collett (Ref. 32P99) and Ralph Wareham who married Alice Collett (Ref. 32Q2). See Ref. 32P97 for more information on the Wareham family.
	Queen and Harry had three children: Phyllis Rita Wareham born in 1939 who married Jim Whatley; Patricia Rose Ann Wareham born in 1943 who married Jim Janes; and Harry Wareham born in 1952 who married Peggy.
32Q2	Alice Florence Collett was born in 1924 and she married (1) Ralph Arthur Wareham who was born in 1915 and with whom she had three children. Robert Wareham, Ralph Wareham junior and Elizabeth Wareham who married Mr Stuckless.
	From the records it would appear that Ralph may have died as, at a later date, Alice married (2) Percy Maxwell Wareham who was born in 1932.
	It seems logical that first husband Ralph was the brother of Frank Wareham who married Irene Collett (Ref. 32P97), Rita Wareham who married Thomas Collett (Ref. 32P99) and Harry Wareham who married Queen Collett (Ref. 32P100). See Ref. 32P97 for more information on the Wareham family.
32Q5	Effie Collett was born in 1928. She married Leeland Rodway who was born in 1927 and with whom she had three children: Judith Ann Rodway born in 1950 married Kevin Dicks; Joyce Lillian Rodway born in 1951; and Kevin Frederick Rodway born in 1957.
32Q21	Dorothy Cavell Collett was born in 1923 and died when aged only twenty-four in 1947. Before that tragic event she had married Harold Roy Gorman.
32Q22	Laura Reeves Collett was born in 1924. She married John Frederick Stratton who was born in 1926 and with whom she had a son Charles Alfred Stratton boirn in 1948.
32Q23	Helen Pearl Collett was born in 1926 and she married Charles Sweetland.
32Q25	Ina Lindberg Collett was born in 1930 and died on 18.08.1949 at Harbour Buffett.
32Q26	Thomas Grandy Collett was born in 1932. He married Margaret Anderson who was born in 1934.

32Q27	Arthur Shorter Collett junior was born in 1934 and he married Sheila.
32Q28	Lloyd Parson Collett was born in 1935 and he married Velma.
32Q29	Rupert Ryan Collett was born at Harbour Buffett in 1938 and was buried there following his death on 24.01.1940.
32Q30	Margaret Maxine Collett was born in 1940 and she married Norman Pinhorn.
32Q31	Rosland Collett was born in 1942 and she married Mr Rouah.
32Q39	Stella Maude Masters was born at Harbour Buffett in May 1899 and she married Walter Gilbert who was born in 1890 at Haystack. The marriage produced eleven children born 1917 and 1940. Stella died at Arnold’s Cove in 1966.
	The eldest of their children was May Gilbert who was born at Haystack in 1917. She married Freeman Wareham who was born in 1901 and with whom she had five children. May died at Arnold’s Cove in 1983.
32Q40	Neil Kenneth Masters was born in November 1901 at Kingwell. He married Ada Beatrice Upshall (Ref. 32P87) the daughter of Nelson Upshall and Elizabeth Shave. Ada was born at Corney’s Cove in 1911 and died at Arnold’s Cove in 1993 where Neil had previously died in 1966 and where there were both buried.
	The couple had five children from 1928 to 1946 one of which was Neil Kenneth Masters born in 1930 at Harbour Buffett who married Lillian Iris Upshall.
32Q41	Matilda Masters was born in 1902 and married Denis Hann who was born on 08.10.1900 at Port Royal. Matilda died in 1996. The marriage produced twelve children all of whom were born at Port Royal.
32Q46	Annie Viola Masters was born on 01.01.1929 – see 32Q55
32Q51	Douglas John Gregory was born at Harbour Buffett on 27.12.1924. He married Pearl Eleanor Collett (Ref. 32P80) who was born in 1927 on 23.10.1946. Douglas died on 10.08.1951 at Harbour Buffett.
32Q55	Norman Masters was born at Harbour Buffett on 24.08.1919 and he married his cousin Annie Viola Masters (Ref. 32Q46) who was born at Harbour Buffett on 01.01.1929.
	Norman was the son of single mother Lillias Masters, the father being Robert Bailey. Four days before his seventh birthday in 1926 Norman’s mother Lillias Masters died and from then on he was brought up by his grandmother Elizabeth Masters (Ref. 32P28).
	There were four children that resulted from the marriage of Norman and Annie and all of them were born at Harbour Buffett. These were David George Masters born 24.10.1950, Ruby Marie Masters born 16.12.1952, Norma Louise Masters born 07.03.1954, and Beatrice Pauline Masters born 25.10.1956. Norman Masters died on 23.03.1994 at Burin.
	The couple’s youngest daughter Beatrice Pauline Masters married Morley Wayne Pike who was born at Burin on 30.01.1952.
32Q57	ALICE ELIZABETH HOLLETT was born at Harbour Buffett on 21.01.1945. She married Percy Alvin Brown on 05.08.1964 at Harbour Buffett. Percy was born on 28.08.1941 at Kingwell, the son of Wilson Brown and Mondella Allen. All of their children were born at Little Harbour East.

32Q63	George Collett was born at Famish Cove in July 1902 and he married Bertha Crann who was born in 1908. Bertha Crann was the sister of Robert Crann who was born in December 1889 and whose son John Crann married George Collett’s sister Mary Collett (Ref. 32Q67) and whose daughter Julia Crann married George Collett’s brother Stanley Collett (Ref. 32Q68).
	Furthermore the remaining three siblings of George Collett married three Jarvis siblings – see (Ref. 32Q64).
	According to the 1935 Census George aged 32 and his wife Bertha aged 27 were living at Famish Cove with their two children Mabel aged 3 and Edgar aged 2 perhaps indicating that they were married around 1930.

32Q64	Joseph Collett, who was known as Joe, was born at Famish Cove in October 1903. He married Jessie Jarvis who was born in July 1907.
	As mentioned above, Joseph’s brothers Ernest Collett (Ref. 32Q65) and Llewelyn Collett (Ref. 32Q66) married Mildred Jarvis and Irene Jarvis respectively. This was therefore a case of three Collett siblings marrying three Jarvis siblings.
	Angie Collett made contact in August 2010. She is the great granddaughter of Joseph Collett, and it is hoped that, in due course, she will provide details of her family that will extend it from Joseph to the present day.
32Q65	Ernest Collett was born at Famish Cove in September 1906 where he married Mildred Jarvis who was born in 1911 and where they were living at the time of the 1935 Census.
	Mildred’s two sisters Jessie Jarvis and Irene Jarvis married Ernest’s two brothers Joseph Collett (Ref. 32Q64) and Llewelyn Collett (Ref. 32Q66).
32Q66	Llewelyn Collett was born at Famish Cove in September 1909 where he married Irene Jarvis who was born in 1912.
	According to the 1945 Census Llewelyn aged 35, his wife Irene aged 33 and daughter Margaret aged 4 years were living at Famis Cove with Llewelyn’s parents John and Sarah Collett (Ref. 32P50).

32Q67	Mary Winnie Collett was born at Famish Cove in March 1913 where she married John “Jack” Crann who was born on 12.1912 also at Famish Cove.
	John was the son of Robert and Caroline Crann who were living at Famish Cove at the time of the 1921 Census and were recorded as followings.
	Robert Crann born Dec 1889 at Harbour Buffett; wife Caroline Crann born Feb 1895 at Haystack; sons John Crann born Dec 1912, Earl Crann born Nov 1914 and Ronald Crann born Apr 1920; daughter Ira Crann born Sept 1916. All of the children were born at Famish Cove.
	Robert and Caroline had another daughter Julia who was born in the year after the census and it was she that married Mary Collett’s brother Stanley Collett (Ref. 32Q68).
	John Crann died at Corner Brook in 1999.
32Q68	Stanley Thomas Collett was born at Famish Cove on 17.10.1918. He married Julia Blanche Crann on 05.051943 at St John’s. Julia was also born at Famish Cove on 17.09.1922 and was the daughter of Robert and Caroline Crann – see Ref. 32Q67.
	According to the 1945 Census Stanley aged 26 and his wife Julia aged 23, together with daughter Effie aged one year, were living at Famish Cove in Placentia Bay.
	Julia died on 14.11.2004 at Placentia Bay and was buried at the graveyard of the United Church in Fairhaven.

	Stanley Thomas Collett was the grandfather of Natasha Young who, in 2007 was living at Pasadena in Newfoundland and who kindly contributed details of her ancestors
32Q70	Llewelyn Hollett was born at Harbour Buffett in April 1914 and he married Susan Collett – see (Ref. 2P79) for further details.
32Q72	Albert John Hollett was born at Tickles in Harbour Buffett in 1930. He married Dorothy Hann who was born at Kingwell in 1938, the daughter of Isaac Hann and Martha Brown. The couple had two sons Philip Hollett born in 1963 and Mervin Hollett born at Arnold’s Cove in 1965 who married Lajuan Slade.
32Q82	Charles Watkins Collett was born in 1931. He married Molly Collett (Ref. 32Q104) the daughter of Percy Collett and Harriet Dicks who was born in 1938.

32Q94	Barbara Lillian Collett was born in 1949 and she married William Kenway with whom she had two children: Bradley and Beneta.
32Q95	Marilyn Elsie Frances Collett was born in 1955. She married (1) Edward Clarke and then (2) Robert Hartley.
32Q96	Shirley Anita Hann was born in 1937. She married Frank Oliver Gregory on 05.10.1956. He was the son of John Gregory and Louisa Masters and was born on 10.11.1929 at Harbour Buffett.
	The couple had two daughters Anita Lillian Mae born on 02.02.1957 who married Rex Roebotham and Patsy who was born after 1957 who married Franklin Stockless.
32Q97	Gwendolyn Mae Hann was born in 1938. She married Leo George Marshall who was born in 1935 and was the son of David Marshall and Catherine Upshall – see Ref. 32O24. The marriage produced three sons: William Andrew, Ken Leo, and Dwayne Eric.
32Q104	Molly Collett was born in 1938 and she married Charles Watkins Collett (Ref. 32Q82) who was born in 1931 the son of Austin Collett (Ref. 32P64) and Jessie Marshall.
32Q105	Loretta Collett was born in 1940, the daughter of Percy Collett and his wife Harriet Ann Dixons. She later married Llewelyn Brenden Upshall (Ref. 32Q136) who was born in 1936. Loretta Upshall nee Collett died in 2009 at the age of 69.
32Q107	Mundon Percy Collett was born in 1944 and he married Harrietta Francine Slade who was born in 1945 at Harbour Buffett.

	Kevin had three children from a previous marriage: Jason John born at Ajax, Ontario on 07.10.1988, John James born at Oshawa on 19.12.1990, and Jessica Cynthia Lee born at Port Perry in Ontario on 25.04.1992.
32R7	Alvin Frank Brown was born at Little Harbour East on 05.09.1969. He married Wendy Juanita Crane on 30.09.2000 at Bryant’s Cove. Wendy, who was born on 27.03.1979, was the daughter of Henley Crane junior and Yvonne Andrews.
	Their daughter Cassie Wendy was born at Clarenville on 31.10.2002 and was christened on 22.12.2002 at Little Harbour East.
32R8	Roy Wilson Brown was born at Little Harbour East on 10.06.1975 and was christened there at St Andrew’s Church on 29.06.1975. He married Deanna Joy Reardon on 07.09.2002 at Grande Prairie in Alberta. Deanna was the daughter of Gordon Reardon and Rosalind Cull and was born on 22.06.1974 at St Anthony and was christened on 19.07.1974.
	Their two children were both born at Grande Prairie, Austin Gordon on 05.12.2002 and Ashley Elizabeth Joy on 19.10.2004.
32R13	Donna Collett was born in 1956 and was the daughter of Charles Watkins Collett and his wife Molly Collett, also her maiden name, since she was the daughter of Percy Collett and Harriet Dicks. Donna later married Byron Collett and their marriage produced two daughters for the couple.
	Up until May 2009, nothing was known about Byron Collett, or where he came from, and to which branch of the Collett family he belonged. That is until details were received from Randy Collett in December 2010, who is the brother of Byron.
	The new information revealed that Randy and Byron were two of the five children of Ronald Collett, who was the eldest son and second child of Charles Leslie Collett and Ethel Constance King. Charles was born in England around 1900 and he and his family lived in Forest Gate in the London Borough of Newham, that being the historic gate to Epping Forest.
	The children of Charles Leslie Collett and Ethel Constance king were Gladys Collett, Ronald Collett, David Collett, who was born at Calgary, Philip Collett, Charles (Chuck) Collett, and Charlotte Collett who was born in northern Alberta.
	As regards their son Ronald Collett, his marriage to Kay McKenzie produced five children, and they were Wendy Collett who married Dave, Randy Collett who married Sue, Byron Collett who married Donna Collett, Lauraine Collett who married Norton Fast, and Sandra Collett who married Keith. It is hoped that in due course more details will be revealed about these two families.
	What is known is that Charles Leslie Collett was the son of George Collett and his wife Ellen Wise Humble, and he had a brother Herbert and a sister Fern. Charles’ wife Ethel was born around 1904, and she was the eldest child of George and Jessie King who, in April 1911, were living in the Wellingborough area of Northamptonshire when Ethel Constance was six years old.
	It is possible that Charles and Ethel were married in England, just before they emigrated to Canada around 1925. It also seems very likely that the couple’s move to Canada apparently caused some falling-out with Charles’ family, and this is why it has not been easy to trace his family.
	Once in Canada the family settled in Calgary, where they lived up to about 1937. It was while they were there that Ethel presented Charles with three children, these being Byron, Randy and their sister. Further children were born into the family after they had left Calgary and moved to Alberta.
	Charles Leslie Collett died in 1974, and was followed six years later by his widow Ethel Constance Collett nee King who died in 1980.

32R73	Thomas David Collett junior, who is known as Dave, was born in Newfoundland on 09.08.1968, the eldest of the three sons of Thomas David Collett and Iris Jean Crocker. On 26.08.1995 he became a married man and the marriage produced a son for Dave and his wife, but in 2010 the couple are to be divorced. His son Thomas Spencer Dean Collett now resides in Alberta in Canada.
	Dave is currently a sailor and has been for a number of years now. In 2010 he was employed as bosun and a crane operator, working in the oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico on a diving support vessel cleaning up hurricane damaged platforms and wells.
	Around two years ago in 2008, he was in England when he was working in Hartlepool on a pipe-laying vessel. When he is not away working, Dave has a project to build a new cottage in Mississippi.
